Dear Parent/Carer

I am writing to inform you that I have been asked to fill the post of Head of Education (Quality Improvement) at Aberdeenshire Council on a temporary basis.  The post will be for a period of up to sixteen months and I will be taking-up the post after the Easter holidays.  During that time, an Acting Rector will be appointed at Mackie Academy.  The process for that appointment is underway and you will be informed of the outcome as soon as a decision has been made.  The Parent Council of the school has been fully briefed.

With your ongoing support, our committed staff will continue to provide quality educational experiences for our young people.  Mackie Academy is a great school and is in a strong position to continue to move forward with confidence.  I very much appreciate the support that you have provided for the school and I am in no doubt that over the next year, we will continue the positive direction as recognised in last year’s HMIe inspection.

I will ensure that you are kept informed of any further developments as soon as is possible.

Yours faithfully

Andrew Griffiths

Rector
